What people are saying...

I can’t express how grateful I am for your mentorship.  I took my first in person class with you seven years ago and I have been a member of your Epiphany on line classes since its inception. You are an amazing and inspiring teacher and have helped me follow my passion for art. Thank you for all your support and encouragement to become a better artist.  - Larry Risigo Feb 2025

Your videos are head and shoulders above most Patreon or You Tube.  They are clear, reasoned, with practical tools that one can refer back.  I look at your lessons as a gift, I now know how to make that plan so I can achieve the work I want, I do not spend days looking at a painting not knowing how to accomplish my vision.  Thanks so so much, --Christine Heroy

I watched your Sunrise Palette Demo this morning here in Oz.  Thank you so much for a beautiful demo.  I have tons of wave photos that I will now look at again with new eyes.  Thank you for being so ‘real’ and genuine in your demos.  I especially appreciate how patient you are with questions and love it when you have a little giggle.

—Jo Frost, Brisbane, Australia

Epiphany Fine Art

Online Instructional Videos

For the past three years I have partnered with Epiphany Fine Art, an online art academy to create my Pastel Playbook: information and experience gained from over twenty years of painting and teaching pastels.  Epiphany Fine Art was created by Matt Miller, a colleague of mine at the Copley Society and Reena Bates, who like me, strongly believe that art is a skill like reading and writing, which can be taught and learned and should be accessible to all.

In this video library, you'll have access to all my lessons, tips, and techniques in one place, accessible at your convenience and on your schedule.  Whether you're just thinking about experimenting with pastel or you are a seasoned painter, I want to help you move further along in your journey. If you're familiar with my weekly classes or any of my workshops, you know that there is information for all levels offered in my presentations.

Membership is subscription-based, ($35 per month) and you have full access to all of my videos as long as you have your membership, with new videos added each month.  For less than the cost of a three-day workshop, you have access to a complete and growing library of all my videos for an entire year, on demand.  Content is organized into self-directed workshops, and includes a section for beginning pastelists. RECENT STUDENT COMMENTS

"Even though I've painted for a long time, I'm learning new things. No teacher ever really explained the power of greys before and how to choose them. Thank you!" —Kris S, Los Angeles.

"I have looked at/paid for/practiced for over two years and never really "got" how to work with value, intensity, neutrals, temperature. Your exercises with the strips, boxes, etc. have been lightbulb moments. I don't think I will ever paint again without a page of value strips next to me so I can tell what value my color really is. I am excited to keep on going."—T.M., Austin, Texas
