Commissioning a painting is a highly personal process. During our initial meeting, we will discuss the possibilities in style, scope and general feel of the commission. For portraits, painting from life is ideal, but when that’s not practical we will schedule a photo session of about an hour. I also occasionally work from photos supplied by the client. For landscapes/seascapes, I will work with you to create a painting suited to your needs, based on our conversation.
Often I create a small loose color study for your approval, which you also have the option to purchase. Once we have agreed on a composition, I collect a 50% deposit and begin work on your painting. Upon completion, I will send a digital image for your review, at which point minor changes can be made. Once you have approved the work, final payment is made.

Group Portraits
Add 50% per additional head within the portrait. For a fully rendered background, add 15-20%
